*Shrimp is the best, big enough to split*
must hit em up @ least once
tip: order to go! Can be quite smokey @ the bar seats. Shop around while you wait a long while! Its worth it~

the surf

Hike the winding very steep cobblestone roads to the top of hill on the bays north end. Booty Hill I like to call it! Excellent early morning workout! Finish up with breakfast @ the Tropical House across from The Villas Del Palmar.

Let these two charm you with their sweet smiles and beautiful friendship bracelets

Artist Spotlight for February:

Devon Chapman

Sayulita, Nayarit Mexico

"I grew up in Santa Barbara, CA when it was still paradise.
My mother is Dutch. My American father met her during the war.
We spent many summers in Europe at my grandmother's house.
She was an avid collector of Impressionist art.
I remember lying on the floor, looking up at Renoir,
VanGoth, Cezanne, Picasso, Dufy, Modigliani, Monet,
quietly molding my reality while I absorbed those powerful brush strokes, and spontaneous color...

I studied art at U.C. Santa Barbara, the Honolulu Academy of Fine Art
and Santa Barbara Art Institute,
focusing my interest on oil painting.

Eventually, I discovered fabrics in printmaking class.
In the 70's, I became involved with textile design and
manufactured stage clothing for musicians in the Bay Area.
In the 80's, while I was raising my son, I created fabric "pictures"
using collage and applique' techniques.

In the 90's good fortune found me in Tibet,
traveling overland, feeling as if I were perched on the back of some huge,
life altering beast.
On returning home I made the leap into oils and soft pastels.

Santa Fe, NM was my home for 20 years,
but for the past 9 years Sandpoint, ID and Sayulita have been my home.

I paint from life.
If its warm I paint outside.
If its cold or rainy I set up a still life in my studio.
Painting is my passion. "

With that inspiration weve just rearranged our entire condo! What better to do on a rainy day. Its our family ritual, a dull moment will always arouse a lovely game of room re-imagination.
